The Boxing Day Shoot.

The Boxing Day shoot went very well this year, the weather was just superb !

Shooting the Compak Sporting Layout, see Gary Johnson forget to load his shotgun !

The day after The Royal Wedding left us all wanting more excitement, so we went to the best Clay Shoot in the Country to try our hand at the Compak Sporting. We had some fun and really enjoyed ourselves. The day was made special by Gary trying to shoot the clay targets without actually loading his gun. Although environmentally friendly, Gary soon reverted back to shooting real cartridges and dusting the clays in the traditional manner.

Skeet Shooting with a muzzle loading shotgun, watch the Video and see Mick's gun fall apart !

If you watch closely at the third shot Mick takes on the first stand, you will see his muzzle loading shotgun come apart into two pieces, totally hilarious !

Another Happy Customer.

Pictured above is Quebec's esteemed and most famous collector Marcel, proudly holding his Isaac Hollis 0•577 x 3" black powder express double rifle, purchased from Micks Guns.

It is good to see such a high quality, rare and classic gun gone to such a good home where it will be treasured and well looked after.

Mick Shepherd.

A letter to warm the heart.

It is very refreshing that every now and then, we come across someone who possesses extreme human kindness and understanding. If you take a moment to read this wonderful letter you will see how amazing this dear gentlemen is. The support, understanding, encouragement and decency shown to us by Gene, makes him stand out amongst us mere mortals.

Petition to reclassify 0•22 pistols as Section 1.

The Home Office should reclassify 0•22 calibre pistols as Section 1 firearms. This would permit legitimate sportsmen & sportswomen to practice competitive target shooting sports as require by many disciplines, including Olympic qualification, in this country. There would be no risk to the public, sporting firearms are not linked to criminal activity.

If you agree then please would take a few moments to sign the petition ?

Historic Revolvers.

Mick Shepherd has a collection of historic guns owned by very famous trick shooters, here are a couple, more to follow.

Mick Shepherd adds "Plinky Toepperwein's" historic pistol to his Toepperwein collection, more details and photos to follow.

Diamond Dick Tanner's 44 Russian.

Adding to the special collection of famous trick shooters guns, Micks Guns have purchased the greatest gun of all time. Originally purchased by Diamond Dick Tanner himself in the closing days of the wild west, this gun has been welcomed home into the collection. Not for immediate sale.

And here it is !

The life of Richard J. "Diamond Dick" Tanner (1869-1943) encompassed a noteworthy long-distance horseback ride, circus stardom as a crack shot, a medical career in Norfolk, and finally a reappearance as "the original Diamond Dick," when his claim to the title was challenged.

Gettysburg 2011

Continuing Mick's 60th Birthday celebrations in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.

We visited the the American Civil War battlefields and museum.

Outside the museum is a fantastic bronze of Abraham Lincoln, and many people queued up to have their photograph taken alongside it.

Atlantic City, New Jersey.

We took a short detour to visit Atlantic City, to walk along the beach and stick our heads into the casino's. Donald Trump's Taj Mahal was by far the most impressive.

Ken Cooper once said, "If Mick went fishing, he would catch a huge fish with a gold watch in it's mouth"

Happy 60th Birthday.

Mick celebrated his 60th birthday by proving you are never too old to straight the Skeet !

~ He shot a spectacular 25/25 ~

'Birthday Boy' Mick Shepherd straighted the Skeet at Dartford Clay Shooting Club, the best clay shooting club in the Country....... (by a long way), using the famous "Pink Peril" Remington 1100 which is for sale on the Single Barrel Shotguns Page

Mick said "It's so easy with the  "Pink Peril", I just kept the gun ahead of the clays, and kept the gun swinging as I pulled the trigger, and dusted the clays "

It is always nice to straight the Skeet, but extra nice to do it on your Birthday shoot, even with a gun that has such a spread, its almost impossible to miss !

Well done Mickey and Happy Birthday.

Richard, Ken, Gary, Ian, Bazza and the boys.

Mick's 60th Birthday Bohemian Bonanza !

It's not really your Birthday unless you have celebrated it in U Fleku, the most famous restaurant in the greatest Bohemian City in the World !

Ken Cooper, wondering over how you would service a 6.8 Litre V10 petrol engine !

This was something I had always wanted to do, shoot a real AK47 in 7.62 x 39

I was very pleased with it's accuracy and handling, easy to take apart and it is 100% fun.

The real thing ! 7.62 x 39 Shooting the real AK47 is something you must do if you ever get the chance.

Jackson the Singing Dog

Jack and Pax were friends, Pax let him into the house and even shared his sofa with him. We all miss Pax and still talk about him on a regular basis.

Jack developed a taste for singing and has become quite a legend in the shadow of Pax. You can watch some of his performances on YOU TUBE. Jack's stage name is 'Jackson the Singing Dog' and he has added some new songs to his repertoire, these new songs will be appearing on YOU TUBE in the coming months, here is one of his classic numbers singing along to the coronation street theme tune.

Pistol Shooting in Europe.

Since the hand gun ban here in the U.K. the only thing to do if you want to shoot pistols again is to visit gun clubs in Europe where the sport is alive and well.

The latest of our pistol shooting trips has been the best so far. We have made many friends and learnt our way around the city, settled in one hotel and are already planning the next trip.

The September 2009 trip was made special for us because we were able to witness Mick Shepherd getting mobbed by six beautiful young girls.

The You Tube video is live !

Ken Cooper and the Charles Lancaster Shotgun story

Ken Cooper is pictured above proudly holding the antique Charles Lancaster shotgun he lovingly restored.

To give you some idea of the work involved, see the photos below, they show you the condition of the gun before it fell into Ken's hands.

To describe the gun at this stage as neglected would have been an understatement !

Watch the video of Ken Cooper shooting the Charles Lancaster for the first time ! and we are very pleased to tell you, he hit the clay from the high tower with his very 1st shot !

The Beach Buggy Story

New Buggy photos & video coming soon... Now street legal and with some serious modifications.... and it's even FASTER !!!

Mick bought a Beach Buggy on line, the seller lived just a little South of Glasgow in Scotland, so we borrowed Chris's Ford 4x4 and Peter's trailer, and headed North one Friday afternoon. We encountered sunshine and showers on our trip both going to, and coming back from Scotland.

We stayed one night in the Fantastic Sandford Arms in Cumbria, and the next day we met three of Scotland's finest gentlemen, Robert, Alan and Graham.

Mick and Richard wish thank the Sandford Arms for the excellent accommodation, hospitality and food, and to Chris and Peter for loaning us the vehicle and trailer, and a very special thanks to Robert, Alan and Graham who have made us think even more highly of Scotsman and their wonderful country.

------------------------------

It has now been over a year since gun owners in Australia were forced by law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australian taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.  The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent!)

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.  Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

And one last thought for all the unarmed innocent law abiding persecuted citizens of the so called free world:

When seconds count, and you life is in immediate danger, remember that the Police are only minutes away !

Since the handgun ban here in the UK armed crime has soared every year, but we not only fear criminals with guns, we have the Metropolitan Police Force shooting dead innocent people and lying through their yellow teeth as proven several times in the Jean Charles de Menezes murder and in the Michael Shepherd case, who fortunately they did not shoot dead, although they wish they had done so ! and by the time the greatest barrister of all time has finished with them and they have paid dearly for their crimes they can go and rot in hell !

The Metropolitan Police - Proven Liars ..... and worse..... please read on....

GREAT News 2nd October 2008....Sir Ian Blair RESIGNS !..... FANTASTIC.!... Now please can we have a Police Commissioner who can control Operation Trident.... and give back Mick Shepherd's Possessions ???

Sir Ian Blair, not looking so happy at the OLD BAILEY on the day he and the MET were found GUILTY

We have another hero ! the great Boris Johnson

"There comes a time in any organisation when it becomes clear it would benefit from new leadership and clarity of purpose. I believe that time is now." Boris Johnson, 2nd October 2008.

Click here to visit the web site, in our opinion, of the greatest Mayor of London

This could be the start of a new era, a time when the Police no longer tell lies and fabricate evidence to make themselves look good in the media, I guess we are dreaming..... but what a nice dream ?

On the 2nd of October the embattled Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair resigned thanks to Boris Johnson.

Apparently, it was not one single issue that made our great Mayor loose confidence in the Police Commissioner, so we are led to believe it was the culmination of many issues, we can think of five or six ..... Remember the Police statement to the media after they murdered Jean Charles de Menezes ? .... He resisted arrest... he had bag on his shoulders like the suicide bombers used...... he was wearing lots of clothes like a suicide bomber... he jumped the barriers and ran away.......

~ ALL LIES TOLD BY THE POLICE COMMISSIONER, AND THE POLICE ~

The innocent Brazilian electrician did none of what the Police claimed he did, and the liars had to retract their statements !

In addition to these heinous crimes ....

Whilst in the job as the Police Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair allowed Operation Trident to tell many lies, and openly and knowingly tried to send Michael Shepherd, a proven innocent man, to prison for the rest of his life, in an attempt to fool the British public into believing Operation Trident is effectively stopping these terrible black on black murders in our cities.

Mick Shepherd is not black, but he is not white, why does every single enquiry in the last 20 years or so, always conclude the Police are against ethnic minorities ? Britain is multi racial society, why can't the Metropolitan Police treat everyone the same ? Why do they lie, manufacture evidence, change their statements and openly try to vilify innocent people who are not white English ?

~ The Metropolitan Police are proven to be institutionally racist, but they are so much worse than just this, please read the BBC News reports, and please remember, we are only quoting the BBC ~

News Bulletin !

13th October 2008, The POLICE ADMIT CHANGING EVIDENCE.

The Police have admitted changing evidence to escape conviction of murder and attempt to look good in the media !

An investigation has begun after an officer admitted changing evidence during the inquest into the Murder of Jean Charles de Menezes. The Police changed their statement  to make us think he was carrying a BOMB.....then admitted it was a lie.... he was carrying nothing...... he was murdered by the Metropolitan Police, and they tried to cover it, but got caught out !

Jean Charles de Menezes was innocent.

Click Here to read the BBC News coverage of the Police caught telling Lies !

It is 2008 - a time when the Met Police should not be telling lies, altering evidence, persecuting proven innocent people...... or murdering innocent people !

Menezes officer 'altered his log'

23th October 2008, It just gets worse for the Met Police.

A police officer has admitted changing his records to show he did not identify Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes as a failed suicide bomber............. But he say's ......It was a simple error - there had "definitely" been no cover-up.

Oh we see .... NO COVER UP .....   HA HA HA HA HA !!!!

Click Here to read the BBC News coverage of the Policeman caught altering his log !

We know only too well, the Met Police and Operation Trident are corrupt. They Lie, Steal, Change evidence, Manufacture evidence, Murder innocent people... and persecute innocent antique dealers because they slaughtered them in court, showing them to be the despicable force we have come to know they are.

The murdering police officers did not even shout "ARMED POLICE"

Firearms officers have told the inquest there were several warning shouts of "armed police" before shots were fired.

~ This amounted to more lies ~

Armed police fired on Jean Charles de Menezes without shouting any warning, witnesses have claimed at an inquest.

Click Here to read the BBC News coverage of the Witnesses telling the truth - no warning was given - they just murdered him !

~ ALL PRAISE TO THE BBC FOR SHOWING THE WORLD THE MET POLICE ARE CORRUPT ~

We know for a fact the Metropolitan Police are corrupt, incompetent and are bare faced liars, it is good to see the BBC publishing the facts and proving to the world what we know to be true.

Thanks to the Richard Edwards and Christopher Hope who have written this excellent news item in the brilliant Telegraph newspaper.

2008 ~ 2012

Mick Shepherd in the Times

Micks Guns.com are very proud to see that Michael Adkins, Assistant Editor of the Dartford & Swanley Times, has written yet another well timed and brilliantly accurate article. This week brings to a close the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and all eyes glance towards London for the 2012 Olympics.

Michael Adkins is desperately trying to show the British public that the 2012 Olympic committee have done two terrible things. Firstly they intend to waste of more than £25 Million in building a temporary shooting venue in Woolwich, when the ideal location already exists in Dartford. Secondly, the fact that the wrong shooting team was picked for the 2008 Beijing Olympics resulting in Great Britain getting Zero medals in any of the shooting events.

The article shows just how wrong the selection process was, and clearly states the wrong people went to Beijing to shoot for our Country. The article puts forward a very convincing argument.

The idea of course, was to send people to Beijing who would not get medals for our great country in the shooting sports, in doing so, lower the profile of shooting and path the way for them to waste all this money on a temporary shooting venue in 2012, leaving no lasting legacy for the people of Great Britain.

I expect the company who will be building this multi million pound shooting complex, only to dismantle and scrap it 2 weeks later will be very grateful and exceptionally well paid...... I wonder what is going on here !

Nevertheless it is very nice to see the brilliant Michael Adkins using a photo of Mick Shepherd on the front page.

Police continue to persecute collectors instead of catching criminals.

Mick's Guns are sorry to read some of the guest book entries and e mails sent to us from other innocent collectors telling their equally harrowing stories of their systematic persecution by the Police. We know only too well what you are going through. We as collectors suffer this persecution because of Operation Tridents inability to understand the difference between Sections 1,2,5,7 and 58 (2) of the Home Office Guidelines, and their reluctance to stop criminals bringing banned weapons into the country and using them in crime. In a pathetic attempt to save face and fool the public into thinking they are an effective force against this crime, they put on these despicable shows for the media. The persons who suffer are the innocent collectors who act totally inside the law.

They raid our houses, bringing along the TV cameras and press photographers and tell them despicable lies, which they initially believe and report on.

We then spend many months in prison and go to court and are proved 100% totally innocent, and the lies they told to the media, the public and the court are largely forgotten. They then look around for another innocent law abiding collector to persecute next, and the show goes on.

Innocent law abiding collectors do not argue, fight or shoot at the Police, but real criminals do. This is why we are raided and paraded as the despicable criminals they are too scared to actually go after and arrest.

~ Thank goodness for Lord Tebbit ~

Lord Tebbit wants to tackle Britain’s gun culture by teaching boys how to shoot.

He believes that “controlled, limited use of firearms” would ease the teenage obsession with guns and teach thugs the true nature of violence.

The Police have done nothing to stop gun crime, they are ineffective and when given guns themselves, they regularly shoot and kill innocent people. With the power they are given, they falsely arrest, imprison and persecute innocent people. When they make these murderous mistakes and are caught deliberately lying and manufacturing evidence, they say ridiculous things like, we did the best we could !

Thank goodness for Lord Tebbit's fresh, brilliant and intelligent approach to help us all. We need to change the way our Police Force act and behave, we do not need more dead innocent people, or more falsely imprisoned collectors, we need a fresh approach, lets give Lord Tebbit's idea a chance.

Just maybe we will see a reduction in crime, the present Police policies are deadly and clearly not working to stop crime.

Read all about it in the Sunday Express

Thank goodness for the Sun Newspaper

One of our Countries leading newspapers has run an article on Saturday 29th December 2007 that shows a welcomed, for a change, complete U Turn in the governments attitude towards guns. It is a fact since handguns were banned, gun crime has increased many times over. Handguns were never banned in Northern Ireland, so it is just the Scottish, English and Welsh who are racially discriminated against. The Government say The Scottish, The English and The Welsh are not fit citizens to own handguns, but the Northern Irish are. Gun crime has not increased in Northern Ireland, it has reduced dramatically, and thousands of shooters in Northern Ireland are still enjoying their sport of target shooting with pistols.

Teaching children to handle guns correctly and allowing paper target shooting as a disciplined Olympic sport is much better than violent video games where our children kill people for game points !

As a parent, I know which one I would like my children to do !

All praise form us to the wonderful Sun Newspaper !

The Baltimore Antiques Arms Show 2006

It was much colder than last year, but the queue was much shorter getting in on the 1st day.

Esteemed gentlemen Phil Gardella Senior and Junior, pictured here at the show with Mick Shepherd, put on what we have come to expect from them as their usual high quality and rare collection of loading tools, oil pots and powder flasks. Phil & Phil's table at the show was one of the more interesting displays that seems to get better each year.

~ Mick's Guns are proud to announce that soon we will be publishing a unique section on these two gentlemen's collection ~

Obituaries.

Tom Alchorne 1938 - 2011.

Mick's Guns are very sad to share with you the news that Tom Alchorne has passed away. Tom leaves behind a wife and three children along with hundreds of friends.

~ Tom was born on 13th November 1938 and sadly passed away on 1st October 2011 ~

Tom was one of the founder members of the Orpington pest control club, and was a familiar face at the clay shoots throughout Kent. In the last remaining years as an active shooter, Tom shot quite regularly at Hawley gun club in the golden days when it was owned by the two gentlemen, Brian Gray and Tony Hills. Tom also shot rifles occasionally with us at Bisley, and was always great company to shoot with.

Tom's service was attended by hundreds of people, so many attended they gave him 2 separate services, as not everyone could fit into the chapel !

Tom had a great send off, thank you to everyone who attended, we have lost a very dear friend and shall always remember him.

Mick Shepherd.

Charlton Heston dies aged 84 on April 5th 2008.

One of my earliest memories was my parents taking me to see The Ten Commandments, and seeing Charlton Heston play Moses. But most will remember him for winning a best actor Oscar for his starring role in the epic Ben Hur.  Richard.

A spokesperson for the star's family has said. Charlton died at his home in Beverly Hills. His wife Lydia, whom he married in 1944, was at his side. Heston also portrayed Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the 1950s and 1960s.

Charlton Heston supported freedom and our right to own guns, he stood up for what was right. We can all hear him say those immortal words as he famously held his American War of Independence-era musket over his head and told the world:

"I have only five words for you - from my cold, dead hands."

He was an honorary life member of the National Rifle Association, and was its president and spokesman from 1998 until 2003.

Even the photo chosen for the cover of his autobiography shows a man happy with his Beretta over his shoulder.

Ronald George Charles Stubberfield, 8th June 2008.

It is with complete sadness that I share the news with you that our dear friend Ron Stubberfield passed away on the 8th June 2008.

Ron was born on the 6th August 1927. He saw service in the army, serving an impressive 22 years in the Royal army service cor, and was stationed all round the world during this period of service.

Ron leaves his wife of 63 years wed and two sons Neil and Peter.

Ron was a member of the masons at west hill Dartford, and one of the founding members of the Northfleet pistol Club till it disbanded after the handgun ban. Ron attended the Pistol club reunion I organised recently.

Ron will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Ron's funeral service took place at Falconwood crematorium on Mon 23rd June at 2-30 pm. There was was a tremendous turn out, I myself was away and my Son attended on my behalf.

I would like express my deepsest sympathy towards Ron's family.

Mick Shepherd.

Pax, 22nd August 2006.

"To all my friends and people interested, this is to tell you all that my beloved and great companion PAX (1994-2006) passed away 22-8-06 after being diagnosed with inoperable cancer.

He was much loved and enriched my life far beyond anything i could have done for him.

These few words cannot fully express the great sorrow and pain that i feel now that he has gone."

Mick Shepherd

It is with tremendous sadness that I have to pass on the bad news that Pax has passed away.

Pax had become a friend to us all, we loved him and appreciated that he was special, he was more human that dog. Pax showed incredible intelligence, kindness and tolerance like no other dog. He was a dog who wanted to be friends with everyone, and never looked for trouble. He tolerated other dogs bad behavior up to a point, then taught them a lesson. He had an even greater tolerance for young dogs smaller than himself and would tolerate puppies biting his tail and misbehaving as they do.

Pax loved riding in the car and especially loved going out in the buggy and going shooting where he could meet up with all his friends at the gun club.

Pax will be missed by us all.

Pax will be remembered for being one of the nicest dogs that ever graced the shooting grounds of South East England.

Pax is Latin for peace, may Pax rest in peace as he was a dog who deserved the best, and got the best thanks to care and love bestowed upon him by Mick and his family. I consider myself fortunate have known Pax for the years that I did.

Richard
